A quiet morning in the mountains

This painting is part of my Postcards From Places series, where I try to capture the feeling of being somewhere rather than just documenting how it looks.

This piece is inspired by early morning light hitting the Kanchenjunga range. The peaks catch the first warmth of the day while everything below is still settling into it. I was drawn to that contrast. Sharp light above, softer tones below, and a sense of stillness holding everything together.

The small house in the foreground acts as a quiet anchor. It brings scale to the mountains and makes the scene feel lived in, not distant.
